St. Patrick’s Day Parade * Spokane, WA
We wanted to announce an impromptu get together at the Onion Bar and Grill in downtown Spokane (302 W. Riverside) on March 17th directly after the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Onion does not take reservations on parade day, but we should be able to find seating and enjoy a green beer together! Gail and Debbie look forward to seeing you to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and talking ‘A bit of O’Blarney!’
The Parade is typically planned for noon, but they have not announced the time yet. As the date gets closer please check the Sons of St. Patrick website to verify the start time and to view the parade map. http://www.friendlysonsofstpatrick.com/news.asp
NEWS FROM THE FRIENDLY SONS OF ST. PATRICK
We hope you will have the opportunity to enjoy our 40th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 17, 2018!
The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick is a charitable, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (#27-1551302) that was started in 1978 by a small, but dedicated group of people. Our primary goal is to organize the local St. Patrick's Day Parade and ceremonies in Spokane honoring those of Irish ancestry, and to provide donations to area non-profit organizations to help support the community.
Each year on the Saturday prior to St. Patrick's Day, The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick put together one of the most fun and entertaining parades in the region. Using proceeds from the parade, the Friendly Sons' passion for this event extends beyond the parade route each year when they provide donations to several area non-profit organizations to support the community. This, in general, is much in line with the initial organization founded in Philadelphia in 1771, interestingly enough, five years prior to the Declaration of Independence.
This annual parade is one event in Spokane that is open for total community involvement. Regardless of race, creed or color, everyone has just that wee bit of Irish that comes out in full spirit, whether you're a dyed-in-the-wool Irish person or just Irish-for-the-day, this is one event you won't want to miss.
WE WANT TO THANK THE SPOKANE COMMUNITY AND REGION IN MAKING THE 39TH ANNUAL ST. PATRICK'S DAY SUCH A WONDERFUL EVENT!
The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick are partnering up again this year with Second Harvest Food Bank in helping to support not only the parade but to help raise donations and awareness to Second Harvest. We encourage everyone to do their part in helping others in need throughout the year and BRING DOWN YOUR FOOD OR CASH donations to the parade.
